18.10.21. 305ml. After leaving south America I take a flight to Malaga and Linda & Mark pick me up from the airport and let me stay with them for 5 days. I’ve known Linda since I was a kid, her mum and dad were my mum & dad’s friends. What a coincidence after contacting her on Facebook that she lived only 20mins from the airport. I make my way over 5 days to see my mate Andy who has an apartment in Villamartin. I jump on the Eurovelo 8 up the coast for part of the way and skip inland for quieter roads some of the way. I wild camp in abandoned buildings a couple of nights & use a campsite twice. I spend a couple of weeks at Andy’s apartment and he asks me to fly back to England to share the driving of his motorhome back to Spain over Xmas. So I take the opportunity to see my family for the 1st time in 3 years & 8 months. I arrive back on the 18th of December and surprise my kids, mum & sisters which was really nice. 2 days before setting off in the motorhome, France closed the borders to UK tourists because of a new variant of covid so I stay at my daughter’s house for 4 months and return to Spain in the motorhome mid April 2022. The weather has been a mixture of sun & also a lot of rain and I’m staying near Alicante in the motorhome for another week before leaving for the UK on my bicycle.
